July 14, 8:30pm

John Doe is pleased to present a film screening in collaboration with MiA Collective Art on Friday, July 14 at 8:30 PM followed by an open discussion.
The film – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind explores the nature of memory and love through a nonlinear narrative element and asks a number of questions to viewers. Could a spotless mind bring eternal sunshine? If we could control and erase certain memories of our past, would that bring us happiness? Then, are we merely the sum of our past memories?
The film has its own answer to these questions: having a spotless mind does not bring eternal sunshine. Memories are not files that can simply be deleted. We may erase the memories, but we cannot forget the emotions and instincts that arose from our past experiences. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind demands the presence of thoughts and viewers to consider their own experiences.
We cordially invite you to attend this special screening event and take part in the casual open discussion attended by artists who work with ideas of memory. Seating is available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis.
